When entering a search term into Google (we chose ‘chocolate cake’ above), you may notice that many of the results look the same. However, then your eye is drawn to a result that has a photo featured, and maybe stars to show ratings. These are called Rich Snippets, and can include images, ratings, or other relevant pieces of data rather than just the standard title, URL and description.
Rich snippets are most commonly used for recipes, products, reviews and events to add specific elements such as cooking times, ingredients, product info such as price or other important information you want to easily convey to your audience. Pages with reviews shown directly in the search results makes it easy for customers to decide whether they want to visit your page or not, and if you have good reviews they will often click through to your page rather than a result with no extra information.
Many times most of the work can be done with a plugin or a little bit of custom coding, from yourself, or we can help with if you get in touch with us.
