Using a Social Sharing Plugin or Service to Share Website Content

We’ve already discussed how consistency is key when building your website content. Today we are going to talk about the advantages of using a social sharing plugin on your WordPress site to help keep your social media consistency in check too!

Remembering to share to your social media channels can be stressful, tiring and can end up at the end of your to-do list. But it’s an important part of off-page SEO, so it can’t be neglected.

An easy way for small businesses to keep on top of their social media posting and to remain consistent is to use a Social Sharing Plugin such as Blog2Social, or a service such as Buffer or Later.

These tools mean that you can schedule in your social media posting in advance – a huge advantage if you don’t have time to spend online every day.

Blog2Social

Blog2Social is a plugin for WordPress which connects your website content to a calendar, and in a few short clicks, you can schedule it to be posted on a variety of social channels. We use it regularly in our content creation and SEO packages so that we can get the new content out and scheduled for clients to see asap after creation.

Pros: The plugin is within WordPress, so you can schedule your content at the same time as you write it. You can also auto-post as soon as an article is published. There is a free version, or a well priced pro version.

Cons: The interface is a little clunky, but simple enough and easy to use once you get used to the quirks.

Buffer / Later

Buffer and Later are both social media scheduling services (separate from WordPress), where you can schedule posts, photos and captions for social media channels.

Pros: Both have decent free versions of the service. Easy to use – although I prefer Later’s calendar view.

Cons: The paid plans are a little more expensive than Blog2Social, but offer more flexibility in how you deliver content. Regular refreshing of linked accounts is needed.

No matter what tool you use to help you share your content consistently across your social media, doing this will help your business. Posting engaging content regularly, helps both with the algorithms of social channels, and with audience engagement!
