Have you changed to GA4 Analytics yet? The switch to GA4 analytics is imminent, so it’s important for you to make that switch as early as possible. You may be seeing this notice on your analytics dashboard:

“On July 1, 2023, this property will stop processing data. Starting in March 2023, for continued website measurement, migrate your original property settings to a Google Analytics 4 (GA4) property, or they’ll be copied for you to an existing GA4 property, reusing existing site tags.”

Is it easy to transition?

The answer is YES! Google offers easy to follow instructions, and will create your GA4 account for you with one easy click. Then you just have to paste the dual tracking code into your analytics plugin / header to ensure good data coverage during the transition period.

Don’t wait too long

The best case scenario is that you have transitioned to GA4 in plenty of time to allow it to gather several months of data before the old analytics switches off in July. Not only will this give plenty of history data in the new format, but it allows you to get used to reading the analytics on GA4!

Sign up to GA4 from your old Google Analytics dashboard, and follow the instructions given to make this easy change. Once the transition period has ended, further advice will be given on the old analytics tool being switched off.
