Apple or Android Apps?

When making an app you should think about your customer base and who you’d like to target, but you also need to decide if you are going to develop your app for Android, Apple, or both.

Developing for Apple : Apple users more freely download apps than other system users so it’s beneficial to be in the app store. However, it can often be a longer process to get an app into the Apple store as apps are vetted to ensure quality so the app store is always stocked with smooth working downloads. As there is less competition because of the quality control Apple imposes on it’s apps, the chances of your app getting discovered is higher.

Developing for Android : Android devices have surpassed Apple in sales, and while developers used to develop for Apple first with a wait time of weeks to months sometimes for androids, this isn’t the case anymore. Now more often than not apps for both come out at the same time. As opposed to just screenshots allowed in the Apple app store, in the Google Play store you are also allowed to submit a short video showing demonstrating your app, or a sales pitch to get people to download it.
