Product tagging for Instagram

Once you have added a product catalogue to Facebook and set your Instagram account to Business version, this is what you need to do to tag your products on Instagram so that viewers can buy your products on your website after seeing your Instagram posts.

If you’d like a hand to get your Facebook product catalogue setup and uploaded then contact us here.

If you want to know how to setup your Instagram for Business click here

Most of the process is the the same as making a normal post on Instagram, the difference is about halfway through the process, but I’ll show all the steps from the beginning, and many thanks to Vicky and Richard from Plantagogo for letting me use their account as the example.

Looking for Heucheras, Heucherallas, Tiarellas and Hardy Perennials including Rare and Heritage types then find the experts on their website here

So the first step, as usual, is to choose the photo you are going to post.

Next step, as normal, is to choose a filter for the photo

Next add a caption, so far so much the same…

Finally something different, at this stage you can add the product tag, click on the section called “Tag Products”

At this step you’ll be asked to tap the photos you want to tag, this is because potentially you may have selected multiple images. In our example we have only selected one

After clicking “Done” on the previous page, you can now select the products form the catalogue. Typing into the search box will make things easier at this stage. Plantagogo have around 150 plants on this catalogue so this narrows the search down

Here you can see the search being narrowed down

This is the plant we tagged.

All done, all you have to do now is click share
