Off-Page SEO Networking Techniques

Off-Page SEO networking techniques have two-fold benefits. Not only can you drive traffic to your website, but you can also build a community and foster good quality backlinks to your site. Off-page SEO is often awash with black-hat techniques, but there are so many great networking opportunities if you ignore the noise.

What is off-page SEO networking?

Off-page SEO is anything that occurs off your website, but that helps to drive traffic to your site. Therefore, things like social media content and engagement, reviews, brand building and mentions, can all help.

Where does networking come in? Networking and engaging is a great way to build community, build your brand, and get your name out there. Social media channels offer lots of different and unique ways to meet people, add value and offer assistance.

Make sure you link your social media accounts to your website, and vice versa.

Ways you can do this for yourself

1. Grow a Facebook group

If you have a service or product which lends itself to a VIP group, or have the time to foster a community of helpful advice online, then a Facebook Group could be a good option for you. While it does involve a fair amount of input, engagement, fostering of relationships, and activity; it creates a community and captive audience as a sales funnel.

2. Participate in niche chats on Twitter

Twitter ‘chats’ and Spaces are a unique way to share knowledge and make connections around the world. Niche Twitter chats often run once a month or once a week, and have a specific hashtag and day or time that people congregate to discuss a topic or questions given by administrators.

3. Join artist collective groups on various channels

If you are a craftsperson, artisan or artist, there are usually groups on Facebook for locals to group together to sell, create co-ops, and galvanise activity. If there isn’t one in your area – start one!

4. Engage with users on your Facebook page

This sounds too simple, doesn’t it? Lots of people use their Facebook page for one way communication, but in actual fact, networking and engaging on your FB page is very beneficial. Statistics show that people who engage on their page, answer questions, elicit activity and talk with their audiences, get better click-through rates to their website.

5. Be active on LinkedIn

LinkedIn is a respected and professional social channel, and thus, really great for networking. Some of the best activities you can do on LI are:

  • Join relevant groups and participate in discussion
  • Ask questions and engage with responders
  • Post regularly
  • Engage regularly with others
  • If you are seeking work, put this on your profile
  • LINK BACK to your website! Off-page SEO networking should build brand awareness and traffic to your website!
