Why You Should Use An SEO Plugin

SEO plugins like Yoast, All-in-One and Rankmath are highly regarded for a reason – they make the very basic aspects of SEO easy to remember and follow. Here are a few good reasons why you should use an SEO plugin on your website.

What does an SEO plugin do?

SEO plugins make some of the simpler aspects of SEO easier to tick off the list. They suggest best practice and give you visual cues when there are errors or questions. They are by no means a catch-all for good SEO practice, but they do help the process along. You can also do all of the steps without an SEO plugin, but certainly for metadata input and keeping on track, they are a great idea.

Which SEO plugin to use?

It’s mostly up to preference. The three major WordPress plugins in use just now are Yoast, AIOSEO, and Rankmath. Not all of them work with every theme, so sometimes that dictates which one you can use. But all are simple enough and do roughly the same job.

Yoast is probably the most user-friendly – so is often a good starting point.

What information is important to input?

It’s important to include things like:

A really great title that includes your target keywords
A meta description that fits search engines, and that gives the best summation of your content
keywords or phrase

And to take note of the best practice listed regarding:

Keyword density
Passive voice and general readability (don’t get too hung up on this though – a vibrant conversational tone of voice is great too
Ensuring that you interlink between internal content
Writing enough content and using headers to break it into easily digestible chunks of information
