X-Cart 4 error ID codes
X-Cart 4 shows customers a bare error number and puts the reason nowhere useful. This is the list. Based on X-Cart 4.1.12, and it holds for most of the 4.1.x line.
Use your browser’s find (Ctrl+F, or ⌘+F on a Mac) to jump to a number. Seeing one of these on a live shop and not sure what to do? Send it to us.

If you are stuck
An error code is a symptom, not a diagnosis
Most of these say “something tried to do a thing it was not allowed to do”, which tells you where to look but not why it happened. A module switched off, a half-finished upgrade, a corrupted table, a bot poking at admin URLs — they all show up here. We still work on X-Cart 4, so if a number on this page is costing you orders, send it over.
